About This Program

Our program is designed to help patients recover from stroke-related aftereffects such as arm paralysis, aphasia (language difficulties), and higher brain dysfunction.
We combine rTMS (repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation) with intensive rehabilitation to rebalance brain activity and promote noticeable improvement in a short period of time.
Since its introduction at Jikei University Hospital in 2009, we have treated more than 1,700 patients, and the program’s safety and effectiveness have been highly recognized worldwide.

Inpatient Schedule

Eligibility Criteria

This program is available for patients who meet all of the following conditions:

1. Age 16 years or older 2. No dementia or severe psychiatric disorder 3. Not undergoing dialysis 4. No metal inside the skull and no cardiac pacemaker 5. No seizures within the past year
(taking anti-seizure medication is acceptable) 6. Overall good health
(no severe heart disease, fever, or significant nutritional problems) 7. Basically independent in daily life 8. Presence of upper limb paralysis with some remaining hand function, such as:
 ・Ability to open and close the fist without moving the wrist
 ・Ability to bend and extend the thumb, index, and middle fingers
