About This Program
Our program is designed to help patients recover from stroke-related aftereffects such as arm paralysis, aphasia (language difficulties), and higher brain dysfunction.
We combine rTMS (repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation) with intensive rehabilitation to rebalance brain activity and promote noticeable improvement in a short period of time.
Since its introduction at Jikei University Hospital in 2009, we have treated more than 1,700 patients, and the program’s safety and effectiveness have been highly recognized worldwide.
What is rTMS Therapy (Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation)?
rTMS is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that uses magnetic pulses from outside the head to stimulate certain areas of the brain. Instead of repairing the damaged part of the brain directly, it helps by reducing overactivity on the healthy side so the affected side can work better. This supports the brain’s natural ability to “reorganize” and makes rehabilitation more effective.
The treatment does not involve surgery, does not cause pain, and can be done while you are relaxed and comfortable.
